Faith

The greatest decision of your life

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
– Ephesians 2:8-9

The Bible tells us that our sin has separated us from a right relationship with God (Isaiah 59:2). Sin is simply falling short of what God wants for us and we are all guilty of doing so (Romans 3:23).

No matter how good we try to be, how many times we attend church, or how hard we try to avoid the really bad sins, we’re still a sinner.

The only perfect one is Jesus.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death” which means eternal separation from God to a place called hell.  No matter what we do we cannot fix that problem on our own. There is a gap between us and God. It is a reality that every person must face.

Jesus Christ Filled the Gap!

The good news is that Jesus took upon himself the wages of our sin and has bridged the gap between us and God (Romans 5:8).  Though he was sinless, Jesus took our sins so we could be saved from God’s wrath.  The Bible says “it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

When we choose to believe and trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross we are forgiven of all our sins and the way is opened to start a daily relationship with God.  Faith in Christ is the only way to be saved (Romans 10:9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12).  Putting your faith in Jesus is acknowledging that we can’t live a good enough life to meet God’s standards and can only be saved through him.

A  Admit you are a sinner & repent of your sin
B  Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again for your sins
C  Commit your life to Jesus Christ

You might want to use the following prayer as a guide:

“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I'm a sinner, and I'm sorry for my sin. Thank You for dying on the Cross for me. Please forgive me of my sin, and accept me as Your child. I desire to live for You, Jesus.  Amen.”

If you just prayed this and meant it from your heart, congratulations!  If you did or are thinking about it and still have questions please contact us.  We’d love to talk about your decision.
