Partnerships

More than just a member

The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. - 1 Corinthians 12:12

Partnership is what other churches refer to as “church membership.” Many view the term “membership” as exclusive or formal and tends to take on a more passive role. God never intended for us to be passive in our faith, but active, nor did He intend for only a few to do all the work of ministry and so at Cedar Point we prefer the term “partnership.” Followers of Christ are all a “part” of the body of Christ, the church, and play an important role in our mission as a church (1 Cor. 12:12-27; Romans 12:3-8). We therefore “partner” together in fulfilling that mission.

If you’ve been a regular attender for awhile joining our Starting Point class is a great next step. We realize you may have questions about our church and so this class is designed to help answer them.

Led by Pastor Darin twice a year for people age 16 and up, the class takes on a small group feel with lots of discussion and opportunities to ask questions. We feel it’s just as important for us to get to know you, your story and background, as it is for you to know us. The class will cover:

  • The basics of becoming a follower of Christ.
  • What Cedar Point Church believes and our core values.
  • What our vision is for our community and world.

Though taking this class does not automatically make you a partner it is a prerequisite for doing so and is intended to give each person the necessary information to make that decision. Come find the answers to your questions, share your story, and more. We look forward to “partnering” with you and transforming lives together!
